Yinghao is located approximately 20 kilometers west of Yima in western Henan province. The narrow gauge system was a compact network which served a number of mines behind C2 0-8-0 locomotives (Yinghao's C2's are easily recognisable by the stadium style headlights. The coal was taken to an offloading point in Yinghao which was then conveyored to the loading point at the CNR mainline. The railway network was capable of giving heavy overhauls to its locomotives and rather uniquely, in the later years of narrow gauge steam, used bogie wagons with roller bearings. This was not a place for the faint hearted, with very primative amenities and a long 10 kilometer walk up hill to get to the yards, yet was extremely rewarding as those who have been would agree. This was easily the most run down railway I came across with track and locomotives in seemingly beyond scrapping condition, yet it all seemed to work...
C2 #15 has spent about half an hour building up steam and now tackles the final steep gradient to Xiangyangchezhan yard with a rake of empties. Superb hardcore narrow gauge action at its finest! Footage was taken at the south tunnel entrance (with appropriate safety gear of course) - 19 September 2006.
Length 2:41 minutes.

C2 #15 rolling down to Yinghao conveyor. Note the train surfer.
Length 1:07 minutes.
Unidentifiable C2 shunts wagons at Xiangyang yard and then heads off to Liangjiawajing. This locomotive was in comparably excellent condition compared to the others.
